All about The Supernatural

Wednesday, September 30th, 2009

The supernatural. What is it exactly? The best definition I have come across it that it is anything that is perceived or sensed by us that does not fall into the category of something that can be clearly recognized by our own five senses of taste, smell, touch, sight, or sound. Given some time of quiet reflection on the subject most people can and do begin to realize just how limited a perception of the world our five senses give us. We can only perceive the absolute outer manifestation of the finer forces around us with them.

Why is it that we do not naturally have the ability to see or perceive the atoms, the electrical, and even finer magnetic forces all around us? We do perceive and make use of them every day with our electronic devices and other machinery, and yet we only in a limited way.

As time goes on and mankind progresses in his understanding at a more and more rapid pace, it seems that perception of what is now considered the supernatural will and must become common knowledge. Things like telepathy, clairvoyance, and other subjects thought by many to be taboo in this day and age will become generally accepted abilities and used by many people in their every day life.

When the telephone was first becoming popular in the earlier part of the 1900′s there was the feeling by many people that this type of thing was of the devil. People were stubborn and slow to accept the facts presented by science that the unseen and little understood forces of nature could and would improve life in many ways.

These days the supernatural is considered as a separate part of our natural world, but more and more it is beginning to be accepted that it is just as much and maybe even more of who we really are than what we think we are. There are many things science has yet to understand or even begin to perceive, but slowly people are starting to experience a major shift in their thinking regarding things of this nature.

Many folks are beginning to get the idea that a human is really not a physical entity with a soul or spirit nature, but actually a soul with a physical body. The proven abilities of psychics as shown on TV and other types of television shows like ghost hunters and celebrity ghost stories shows just how much a part of the human consciousness this subject and subjects like it are becoming.

Online Legal Education

Saturday, September 26th, 2009

If you’ve ever considered a change of career and a school or university course to help you along the way, perhaps one of the courses you’ve come across is for an online legal education. It doesn’t matter what level of education or job you’re currently at, either – with an online degree, you can pretty much work at your own pace to better yourself.

This is the true beauty of an online degree, especially if it’s an online legal education degree – you can look at the courses that interest you, and choose the one that seems best suited. Then, once you’ve successfully passed the course, a whole new and exciting career awaits. It’s just one of the reasons why these types of courses are as popular as they are.

Why an Online Degree?

One of the reasons that many people choose an online degree such as an online legal education one is that it can be taken both from the comfort of your own home, and at your own leisure. Despite this, you will still be learning everything that you would expect to from such a degree, including the relevant information and legal requirements from highly qualified legal tutors.

What Online Degrees are Available?

Although you may think that studying online would limit the training you will receive, that’s not the case. As with any distance-learning course, the online legal education course usually offers both major degrees that you will need to take up a career within law:

· Paralegal degree. This will allow you to study the major fields within law, with the end result being that you can carry out court administration, documentation and research for a lawyer inside a courtroom. The good thing with any paralegal degree is that it’s one of the fastest growing areas of law employment today, so job prospects once you’ve finished your online degree are excellent.

· General law degree. This is the more advanced of the courses, and as such offers a far higher position once completed. In fact, this is normally a bachelor-level degree, so you’ll have to have proven yourself in another field of law study before taking this one. This degree will normally look at the aspects of both civil and criminal law, as well as more specialized variations such as taxations, family law, employment law, etc.

Where can you Study?

The other wonderful thing about taking a distance-learning course is that, due to you being able study from home, you can apply to any online University – you’re not tied down by location. The benefit of this is that you can make inquiries as to what school perhaps offers the best support, or best job placement rates, or similar. If you do a quick search on Google for “online legal education”, you should come up with a good choice of options for you to choose from.

Knowing about Nature

Tuesday, September 22nd, 2009

In the midst of a glut of information and with a risk of drowning in a sea of information through the wonders of internet technology we are somewhat dazed at the extent of human intelligence and skills that allow experts to achieve material success in so many areas.

We can respond to this explosion of information by becoming even more dazed to the extent where our own initiatives become paralysed, or we can feel motivated to accomplish what it is that we consider is worthwhile and will bring us personal life satisfaction.

Once we have determined a purpose for our creative efforts we would be best to realise that we should have Nature onside. Nature has the power to create new life. It directed our growth and mended our bodies when hurt. It causes sunrise and sunset and allows us to enjoy all that the earth beauties on offer. It is willing to co-operate with us in our desire to cultivate particular plants and living things. Nature commands that we sleep so it can repair our bodies and our psyche. It orchestrates all our body functions, even the heart- that we do not have to keep beating. There are so many miraculous events that prove to us the power, intelligence and benign aims of Nature that assure us of our continued welfare and well being on this planet.

Sometimes we may question what we see or know of Nature’s acts and processes when we observe a weak creature being overtaken by another for food. We may wonder that there was no better way than to decree that the male penguin endures the terrible months as he sacrifices every comfort for the precious egg warmed at his feet. We are distraught when death overtakes the young.

We each have our own times of chafing against what is inevitable and against what we perceive as unfair or even cruel, but our responses will not alter Nature’s rules and nor would we want that to happen as we depend upon them and must continue to intelligently co-operate and abide by them to the extent that we find possible. For Nature is the ultimate authority.

Nature, with its mysterious powers and purposes remains supreme and performs the miracle that no doctor can explain satisfactorily. A surgeon can take pride in the mechanics he has mastered, but is humbled before nature’s healing of tissue that follows. In this and many other spheres of human experience Nature proves best.

How to Learn a New Language

Friday, September 18th, 2009

It can seem like a romantic notion to learn a new language. You may imagine yourself having a much richer holiday experience, finding foreign love in a highly romantic city, impressing friends and co-workers, changing your life setting or getting a new job – all as a result of learning to speak your new chosen language. These are all excellent motivating reasons and they are really important, when the going gets tough, which it will, you’ll need to call on the strongest motivating factors you have in order to keep your chin up and continue on.

There are two principal keys to succeeding in learning a language. Firstly you must make contact with the language every day and be consistent with this habit no matter what. Even if you can only do 15 minutes a day, that will mount up over time and prove to be very effective. It’s consistency which really achieves things in life. Secondly you must be open enough to try to speak the language. This is difficult for most people since we are naturally afraid of making potentially embarrassing mistakes. You must however take the risk and even though it’s tough mental work, it’s really the only way to eventually become fluent.

You’ll find that there are some excellent courses out there which make language learning easier. They have made great advances in recent years in how languages are taught and I highly recommend you take advantage of them. On one side you’ll have the learn the structure of the language and on the other you’ll have to learn a vocabulary big enough to get you through most situations in ordinary conversation. You’ll also find there are techniques which will help you learn and retain this vocabulary easier. The web has it all, you just have to search for it.

Classroom Technology For the 21st Century Learner

Monday, September 14th, 2009

This concept is sometimes referred to as “School 2.0″. If you don’t get the reference, it’s time to upskill slightly in your knowledge of classroom technology, as it’s a reference to “Web 2.0″, which is the new way of using the internet – using the internet as a place to share information and write things, rather than just a place to look up information that has been created by experts and professionals.

One of the key ideas of the “School 2.0″ concept is the idea of integrating classroom technology properly and the reasons why this should be done.

1. Classroom technology engages students. Most students like using technology and find it fun to interact with, and this applies to everything from videos through to use of the internet for research. Let’s face it: would you rather present your project as a poster with a few photocopied pictures stuck on with glue and accompanied by scratchy handwriting, or would you rather give a Powerpoint presentation where you can add in sounds, animations and writing that changes colour? Would you rather learn times tables by reciting them or by playing a game where you have to zap monsters marked with, say, “4 x 6″ by shooting the answer “24″ at them?

2. Computers are part of everyday life. We are no longer in the 1980s where computers were boring black and white screens with dot-matrix printers. And computers are no longer a novelty. Your students are now of the generation where computers are part of everyday life. Your students are used to playing on playstations (and the like) and seeing computer technology used for everything from parking meters to displaying songs and sermon notes at church.

3. Classroom technology can be used to bridge the gap between school and home. Emails to parents as a back-up to paper notes is an obvious form of communication. But it can go further. If a student has looked at a website at school, he or she can visit it again at home, and show his/her parents so they can talk about the issues and subjects with them. And projects and presentations can be displayed for other relatives to see – a student can send a link to the class website with the great photos of school sports day to Uncle George who’s working in Hong Kong (and as a bonus, Uncle George can post photos and descriptions of life in Hong Kong that can be used for a study on Hong Kong).

Many teachers and parents are a little afraid of the Internet. If you are unfamiliar with its unique terminology and non-intuitive interfaces, like me, which are constantly changing, it’s hard to get a workable knowledge and ways to use it properly. For teachers, it’s important to visit education sites for information and referrals and also to check into your school district’s professional development or IT training opportunities. Many companies that are selling hardware and network technology to our school districts want you to use it and they provide training and customer support.

Internet research needs extra time to learn and to learn how to teach your students to use it. And the Internet is a great way to learn it! Finding teacher forums and blogs that address your issues can help you find answers to questions quickly. Educational resource companies and educational websites also have a lot of free information on how to use content and how to find content. There are also a lot more internet articles and discussions on best practices for new technologies and are worth reading just to get new perspectives on the many and fast changes educators and teachers are having to make.

Information about Financial Aid for Single Mothers

Thursday, September 10th, 2009

Single moms wanting to return to school or go to college for the first time have more support than ever. There is an abundance of financial aid, all you have to do is apply. Returning to finish your education can mean many positive changes in the lives of you and your children.

Grants are a readily available form of tuition assistance. There are government grants from the U.S. Department of Education, private grants, institutional grants directly from your school and more. Grants really fall into the same canephor as scholarships, as you don’t have to repay the money you are awarded.

There are work study programs though Federal Work Study and Non Federal Work study for moms to qualify for. Federal Work Study is funded by the federal government and your earnings are capped at a specific amount. Non Federal Work study typically goes through your educational institution and there are no caps on earning potential. As long as your bass wants to schedule you, he or she is allowed to.

Loans are available from banks, lenders, institutions, and from the government. This type of aid should be your vest last resort. After you apply for grants and scholarships then consider a loan. Loans have to be re-paid and they can have a negative impact on your credit score. If you can’t afford to repay your loan you could be stuck in a sticky situation, so make sure you know what you are doing before you sign on the dotted loan line.

Housing assistance is also available in some areas, just ask at your local financial aid office. Other programs that may help your are tuition reimbursement from the company you work for, or day care reimbursement from your college. Ask everyone you meet if they know of any type of assistance you may not know about. The more funding you get now the less you have to borrow later.

Choosing the Right University

Sunday, September 6th, 2009

Education is something very important that human being should have in their life. And for this certain reason, there are a lot of people try to get their undergraduate or post graduate education from any university that has good reputation. However, finding the best university for you is not only determined by the reputation of the university only. There are a lot of aspects that you should consider carefully before choosing certain place to study.

The first consideration is your purpose. Just decide why you are continuing your study in the university. If you want to improve your future career, choose any university that becomes the leader in the certain degree that you want to achieve. For example, if you want to study creative writing University of East Anglia will be the best choice. Or, you can choose University of Oxford if you are interested to study business.

However, choosing a certain subject is somehow confusing. If you have decided on a certain subject to study related with your future career plan, it will be easier. You just need to take related subject with your future goal. For example, you can take law if you plan to be a lawyer. But if you have not decided a certain plan for your future, you can choose a certain subject that you are good in.

The second consideration is the location of the university. Make sure that you have to be happy to stay in the certain city or environment. Why? It is very important for you to enjoy the life there because you will spend at least eight months a year to stay there. Consider the distance with your hometown because it will be important aspect as well. If you want to experience independent life, you can choose university as far as you can. But if you still want to come home and visit your parents sometimes, it is better for you to choose the nearer one.

The third aspect to be considered is the cost. Surely, it will be an important thing to be prepared when you are going to enter any university. Different universities require you to spend different amount of money. However, you can still apply for any scholarship programs that fortunately are available in a lot of kinds.

There will be a lot of choices of universities for you. Surely, what you have to do finding the best university for you, not the best university based on the rank. If you think that those best universities in the world are appropriate environment for you to study, surely it will be great. However, if you do not enjoy to study there, you just need to simply take another option.

Up to this day, Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts USA is still in the top position of the best universities in the world. This well-known Ivy League school achieves perfect 100.00 score. This is the oldest university in the US which is founded in 1636. The second position will be University of Cambridge in Cambridge, England UK. While the third position is Yale University in New Have, Connecticut, USA.

Now, you can start to consider which university that fit best for you. Prepare everything well before choosing and entering university will be a wise thing to do.

An Introduction of The Astronomy

Wednesday, September 2nd, 2009

Although astronomy is the oldest science, it continues to be at the forefront of not only scientific thought, but that of the public at large too. Who has not looked up at the galaxy while walking home late at night and wondered? Having said that though, the ancient people of certainly the northern hemisphere, but probably both, knew the movements of the stars and planets better than most of us do nowadays.

They understood then, thousands of years ago, that the majority of stars appear to rise in the Eastern skies at night and travel on circular paths. They also noticed that some ‘stars’ were ‘wanderers’ (we call them planets) and that sometimes they went ‘against the flow’.

They also named groups of stars that we now call constellations or even galaxies and knew that those visible in the winter were different from those visible in the summer.and that others were visible all year round. The average common man of 5,000 – 10,000 years ago almost certainly knew more about the movement of the celestial bodies than the average common man of today does. (I mean men and women here, of course).

They learned how to calculate or at least locate the extremities of the sunrise and went to extraordinary lengths to mark those positions with huge stone structures, such as Stonehenge in the United Kingdom, probably to facilitate the location of certain positions of the sun or other planets or stars, which may have been important to their religious beliefs or crop cycles.

In 1609, Galileo invented the first artificial device for studying the stars and planets. It was the first astronomical telescope and through it he was able to observe things millions of miles away that no one had ever seen before. Because of the deductions he drew from his observations, he clashed with the Roman Catholic Church and was often in serious danger for his life, so radical were his discoveries.

But mankind was not intimidated, and since then we have gone on to build ever bigger and ever better telescopes with which we can even detect radio waves, microwaves, X-rays, infrared waves and gamma waves from outer space. Forty years ago, we even travelled to our Moon. and we have sent probes to eight of the nine planets in our Solar System, as well as to several comets and asteroids.

Where are we going next? That decision was always up to the government of the United States and the old Soviet Union, but now there are other players in the field. What will China or India want to explore with their possibly slightly different outlook on life? Or will it be just a question of financial benefit?

The world may be in a state of flux and power may be shifting from its traditional seats, but it has not diminished interest in questions that scientists think can only be answered in space. These are exciting times in the science of astronomy, but then man has always found astronomy exciting.
