The Methodology; Chinese or for that matter learning any language involves a different set of rules to what one is accustomed to and one has to change the mindset of comparing one language with another if one wishes to master that language in all its aspects. Some of the important aspects that one needs to pay attention to are written (grammar), comprehension (reading and listening), conversation (pronunciation and speech etiquettes) and the all important though process. Often if you strive to think in that language you can be more fluent in the other aspects rather than trying to think in one language and then translating your thoughts into another, a tedious process with several limitations.
